BOWLING GREEN, OH, FEBRUARY 8, 2020– At the Wood County Democratic Party Meeting,
executive committee members voted to endorse Nick Rubando in the Democratic Primary.
Rubando won the endorsement over two other candidates in a landslide vote of 34 to 4 and 0.
This endorsement solidifies his place as the most recognized challenger for Ohio’s 5th
Congressional District.
During candidate arguments over policy and perspective, unseating Bob Latta became a chief
concern. Rubando’s appeal to the Party was about viability; he argued that to win OH-5D,
candidates needed strong voter contact and a robust fundraising apparatus.
“This endorsement demonstrates our ability to unify people around an idea: put the people first.
We are running to end government corruption, fight for environmental justice, create accessible
healthcare, and ensure an equitable economy. What we are fighting for is just as important as
who we are fighting against,” said Rubando.
Rubando now has endorsements from the Democratic Parties of Wood & Lucas County and
Brand New Congress. Citizens can vote for Rubando in the Primary Election on Tuesday, March
17, 2020. Rubando will face Representative Bob Latta in the General Election on Tuesday,
November 3, 2020.
